Dentist Susana Akdaş was born in Maiskiy, Russia. She was continuing her medical education at SGU University in Russia when she started Ege University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2007 alongside. During her dental education, Akdaş focused on implantology and completed her graduation thesis on "Implant Prosthesis and Aesthetics" and, graduated in 2014.

After practising her profession as a dentist in numerous private dental polyclinics Susana Akdaş opened her own dental clinic, WestDent Private Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic where she is continuing her career.

COSMETIC DENTIST

Dentist Tuğçe Bigiş was born in Antalya and completed her primary and high school education in İzmir where she graduated from Suphi Koyuncuoğlu Anatolian High School as the top student. Bigiş completed her education at Ege University, Faculty of Dentistry and completed her undergraduate and graduate education as the second top student of the faculty.

Doctor Tuğçe Bigiş continues her studies actively in all fields of dentistry by improving herself professionally and participating in courses, training and seminars. Bigiş is currently practising her profession as a dentist at the WestDent Private Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic.

Dentist Ergün HUNİLER was born in 1977 in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. After completing his primary, secondary, and high school education in Kosovo, he graduated with a master's degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at Ege University in 2006. He further specialized in aesthetic dentistry and implant-supported prosthetics by participating in numerous courses and congresses.

Dentist Ergün HUNİLER, who has worked in dental clinics, dental centers, private hospitals, and research and application centers at universities, continues to actively work in all areas of dentistry with his 19 years of professional experience. He is currently serving his patients at the private dental clinic, WestDent Oral and Dental Health.

ORTHODONTICS SPECIALIST

Orthodontics Specialist Gençer Huniler was born in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. After completing his primary, secondary and high school educations in Kosovo, he started his education as a dentistry student at Ege University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2008 and graduated in 2013 as the department’s top student. In the same year, Huniler started his doctoral education in the orthodontics department of the faculty and, attended many courses, seminars and congresses during this 6-year period. He completed his doctoral thesis by working on faster orthodontic treatments.

Orthodontics Specialist Gençer Huniler is especially interested in reinforcing orthodontic treatment and speeding up tooth movements and deals with orthodontic treatments, fixed and transparent aligners, as well as jaw irregularities and orthopaedic correction.

Periodontist Hasan Onur Akın was born in 1991 in Ödemiş. He completed his primary education at Zafer Primary School and his high school education at Ödemiş Anatolian Teacher High School. He graduated from Kayseri Erciyes University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2014. He completed his specialist training at Izmir Katip Çelebi University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology (gum diseases, treatment and surgery) in 2021 and received the specialization title.

Periodontist Hasan Onur Akın’s work focuses on treatment and surgery of gingival diseases, implants, and embedded wisdom tooth extractions. He is a member of ITI (International Team for Implantology) since 2020.

Dentist Emine Tuğçe Ateş was born in Muğla. She completed her primary and secondary education in Muğla, and she is a graduate of Muğla Anatolian Highschool.

Ateş successfully completed her master's degree at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry. She developed herself in the fields of aesthetic dentistry and pulp health by participating in international congresses during her student and professional life.

She continues to work at WestDent Private Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic.

Dr. Onur Şahin graduated from the Dentistry Faculty of Hacettepe University in 2011 and completed his specialization training in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Gazi University in 2016. He has been working as an academician in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of İzmir Katip Çelebi University since 2017. He was promoted to associate professor in 2021. Since 2017, he has been continuing his advanced training in medical and surgical techniques at Ege University Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Onur Şahin's interests include advanced implantology, hard and soft tissue augmentations of atrophic jaws, all-on-X treatment, zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal implants, as well as medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). He has been an invited speaker at many national and international symposiums on implantology and oral-maxillofacial surgery and has conducted numerous hands-on and cadaver courses on implantology. Dr. Şahin, who performed the first case with zygoma, pterygoid, and transnasal implants in Turkey, has treated over 100 patients with these implants. He has published more than 50 articles in national and international journals and presented over 100 posters and oral papers at national and international congresses related to his scientific field. Additionally, Dr. Şahin’s publications have been referenced more than 300 times to date.
